Paul's heart longs to be with these people. He wants to make sure they stay true to what they know.

Paul is going to remind the people of his care for them using familiar parenting imagery.

Paul reminds the people how strong their faith is and how meaningful their love is for one another. He writes to encourage them to hold onto the hope they have in Jesus.
