So God tells in Bhagavad Gita that everything in the universe goes through three stages from new to medium to old. Whether it is a physical matter or not these three stages happen in all the living or non entities. For example a child becomes a boy then a young man then an adult then an old man and finally leaves the body. Similarly a seed germinates to a plant, a plant to a bush or tree and so on.
