KEY THEMES: God’s heart for justice and righteousness. Empty religion vs. authentic faith lived out. Accountability of God’s people to live differently.

SCRIPTURE: Joel 2:1–11 - The Day of the Lord is near. Joel 2:12–17 - Return to God with fasting and weeping. Joel 2:28–32 - God’s Spirit poured out on all people.

TITLE: Minor Prophets: Hosea (Week 1)

SUMMARY: God’s relentless love pursues us even when we are unfaithful, calling us to return and be restored.

KEY THEMES: God’s covenant love is relentless, even when His people are unfaithful. Sin as spiritual adultery - idolatry breaks God’s heart. Redemption is possible through God’s mercy.

SCRIPTURE: Hosea 1:2–3:5 - Hosea’s marriage as a picture of God’s love. Hosea 6:1–6 - God desires mercy, not sacrifice. Hosea 14:1–9 - Return to the Lord and find restoration.

SUMMARY: Confronting a crisis through worship? What?! Often the most profound and inspiring stories in the Bible are hidden in unexpected places in the Old Testament. 2 Chronicles 20:1-37 tells an incredible story of a battle won by worship! It speaks to us today of how we can confront our own crisis moments. It also reminds us of the "why" behind the tradition of worshipping God through singing.
