Adam and Jared run a stringent eye over Dolph Lundgren's Man of the 2000's application and decide whether or not he can unseat current Man of the 2000's, Thomas Jane.
A trip to the coast gets Adam and Jared in the right head space to cover 1995's Jaws ripoff (in more ways than one), Cruel Jaws. A very short list of what they have been watching and an up or down on an upcoming slasher film round things out.
A listener pick, Adam and Jared dissect the early 90's 'Die Hard in a school' film, Toy Soldiers. The decision making of the bad guys comes under scruitiny as does the amount of action cred you have when you are constanly seen in your underwear. And just how underrated is Louis Gossett Jr? Also, the watch list is brimming with plenty of new films to discuss. Big thanks to Ben for suggesting this movie.
The lads ring in the new year with a higher brow early 80's slasher, 1981's Happy Birthday to Me. Adam and Jared go in depth on the Crawford Acadamy gtop 10, the five hundred red herrings the movie throws up and the need for a good editor. They also cover off on the last movies they have watched for 2024.
A very MERRY CHRISTMAS to all as Jared and Adam finish off our three day Christmas extravaganza with a viewing of John Woo's dialogue free Christmas action film, Silent Night.
Christmas episodes back to back with the little known French horror/thriller Deadly Games next on the agenda. Adam and Jared jump to conclusions as to the villains motivations, are stumped by 80's technology and endlessly wonder about the size of location the movie is set in. Jared also provides a detailed list of what he has been watching while Adam responds with 'I've watched nothing.'
After talking smack about this movie for months, Adam and Jared finally get to look at this years Christmas offer from Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Red One. Will it defy expectations and perhaps be much better than expected. And the lads go through what films they have been watching over the Christmas period.
The lads return to Robert Bronzi territory with the schlocky, Bronson mixed with a werewolf supernatural horror thriller, 12 to Midnight. Has Robert's acting got any better? Does he convince as somebody who is married and can Adam and Jared outrun Tito Ortiz if he is unhappy with their criteque of his acting performance? Jared also provides some insight into what he has been watching. Adam predictibilly fails to add anything to this.
Happy Friday the 13th!!!! A listener asked a question about which Friday movie we would do a commentary on and we decided that Part 5 was the obvious choice. A warts and all deep dive into the film with a warm welcome reserved for the one the only, Demon and those damn enchiladas!!!
Adam and Jared get banged up in Alcatraz with Steven Seagal and Ja Rule for 2002's Half Past Dead. Plenty of it doesn't make sense and the lads wish Kurupt could have been the star and the film could have just been The Rock. They also discuss what they have been watching recently, Red One's release in the cinema and whether urinating in a bottle and handing it to a PA should be a crime.
