In these verses we see the heart of Paul. He is a worker with the Corinthians in their faith. He wants them to have joy

Four things that God has done for us. He established us, He anointed us, He sealed us and He gave us the Holy Spirit as a pledge.

Because God knows His will, all the promises He has made are yes as long as we are in Christ.

Paul tells the Corinthians that when he knows it is God's will, he will come to them.

Paul is proud of what the Corinthians have done. The read and understood what he had said in his previous letter.

Paul talks about bold confidence that comes for a testimony of his conscience. The grace of God is the reason for a good testimony in our conscience.

Paul’s afflictions in Asia Minor. Paul tells of the harsh afflictions that he suffer. He tells of God's miraculous deliverance. Acts 19

The Apostle Paul continues to talk about comfort. Comfort gives us and those who suffer with us a hope the is firmly grounded. If we share in each others suffering we also share their comfort. Paul begins to tell us about his suffering.

Why are we comforted? What does comfort do for us? Paul answers these question in these verses.

He wishes grace and peace for the Corinthians. These things come from God. He begins to speak of the comfort of God. What is God's comfort?
