Receiving teaching that just makes you feel good will eventually lead you from the truth. You will then begin to believe stories that are not true.

Do not heap teachers upon yourself that all they do is make you feel good. They are not giving you what you need but instead are giving you what you want.

The Apostle Paul is telling Timothy about a time period. I believe Paul is talking about the very last days. In the last days, people will not hold up sound doctrine.

The proclaiming of the word of God will bring encouragement. The Word of God must be proclaimed with patience and it must be proclaim as doctrine.

Be ready to proclaim the word when it is convenient and when it is not. The word will reprove or convict people.

Preach the word. This means to proclaim the logos or statements that are found in the Bible, the inspired Word of God.

Paul is speaking to Timothy his very last instruction. These words are so powerful. He speaks in the presence of God and Jesus. Jesus will be the judge at His appearing and as He sets up His Kingdom.

The scripture brings profit in teaching, testing, correction, and training in righteousness. Then the person is filled with and equipped with every they need.

What is Paul talking about when he says "All Scripture" is inspired? He is talking about both the old and new testaments of the Bible.

Paul compares Timothy to these immoral men. He says Timothy has been taught the writings from his childhood. This writings of the Old Testament brought wisdom which led him the faith in Christ.
