Thrive Theology

This episode is the final one in our 3-part series on the Word of Faith movement. We take time this week to deal with several different passages of Scripture that the "health and wealth" gospel twists to preach their message. And we aren't against healing, but are the healings that happen at Benny Hinn's miracle crusades and Bethel's healing rooms legitimate or is something fishy going on? We cover all this & more in today's episode.

This week, we're talking about a hot-button topic: the problems with Bethel and the movement it represents. While many have looked into some of Bethel's problematic practices and addressed them, it's our goal in this episode to confront some of the less-obvious theological issues with Bethel. The biggest threat to Christianity today isn't a lie, but a half-truth. Join us as we work through some of the half-truths Bethel teaches.

If you haven't heard of the word of faith movement, you've probably heard about prosperity gospel preachers. This is the first of a 3-part series on the word of faith movement: this week, we define the word of faith movement as a whole, talk about how the word of faith was established (it's not new!), & how the prosperity gospel redefines the word "faith."

We're taking a short break between series to bring you another "heroes of the faith" episode. This week, we're sharing the life of Fanny Crosby, a woman who was blind from infancy and who wrote thousands of hymns for the Christian church. Her story is one of diligent faithfulness, and we're excited to tell you her story!

We wrap up by discussing what it means to allow fellow believers to follow their conscience on non-gospel issues and how we can love each other well.
