  • Happy Holidays 2017: Remembering the Past and Rejoicing in the Present
This is our last episode for 2017, and I would like to take this time to tell you how grateful I am to all of you for listening to my show for the entire year.
2017 sent a lot of challenges in my life, but I am still here living and fighting. If this year gave you a lot of wonderful things, I am happy for you. But if this year gave you tons of obstacles, don’t lose hope. See them as blessings. Keep in mind that you don’t have to wait for next year to start over. Every time you wake up in the morning breathing, that is another day and opportunity for you to learn, be thankful, and take action.
I encourage you this year to make a resolution of the things that you will/must do and commit to doing them. Permit yourself to start over every day. Carry all the victories and let the struggles from yesterday stay in the past. Live wholeheartedly in the present. Rejoice why every day is called “today.”
    Happy Holidays!

And I know all of us will agree that food is one of the things in this world that makes us feel good. But we need to remember that using food as a reward should be done in the right way, and as much as possible, we must try to break the cycle of using food as a reward.

She shares her journey to realizing her vulnerability and the things she did to gain control over the one thing that she relied upon in times of strife — food. • Sales & Marketing: Myths That Don't Serve You In Life & Business with Steve Kidd
Word of mouth is the best form of marketing.
This is something that you don’t have control over. To market, grow, and advertise your company, you need to have some things out there that are consistent that people can know and rely on.
Though you have the best of intentions, sometimes people may lead your brand to a place where you don’t want it to go. So you have to control the message you’re putting out there. You have to give people good things to say about you. You have to guide your brand in the direction where you want it to go.
    Concept of Sales and Marketing
You don’t have to sell anything, you just need to have a good marketing and the product will sell itself.
Selling is all about sharing, having a mindset of service, and giving the people a way that you can serve them. This is the best way to define selling.
Example: Online Messaging - Putting a link for example at the end of your blog to give credit to someone. You have to give people a choice to make and an action to take.
Marketing, on the other hand, is all about brand messaging and it is as important as selling. Nothing happens until something is sold.
Example: In a restaurant, you often say you want a Coke even though you just mean you want a can of soda. And if the restaurant doesn’t sell Coke products, they will tell you that they don’t have Coke, but they have other products like Pepsi or Mountain Dew.
Now, that is a simple way of selling.
    Writing and Selling Your Book
    Myth: 300 to 350-page book
Fact: Short read books are most impactful.
Join Steve Kidd on Thriving Entrepreneur to know more about these myths that can change your perception of sales and marketing.

  • How to Assign Tasks, Ask for Help & Manage People with Grace with Michael James
Managing people can be a difficult task.  Doing it gracefully can seem nearly impossible some days.  Surprising though, even worse than the difficulty of managing people is the trap of doing it all ourselves.
We need to remember the importance of letting go.  As an entrepreneur, it is so easy to always see every task as being something we have to do.  The truth though is much different.  All distractions are equal, and in your business, the distraction of busyness can be the worst.  We need to learn how to identify not only our strengths but also our weaknesses.  Then as we have said many times, we need to STOP DOING WHAT YOU SUCK AT!  Let your brilliance shine and allow others a place where their brilliance can shine as well.
We need to discover how to assign people where they will shine and then lead them with grace.  It is our job as the owner of our company and the CEO of our business to create an environment of empowerment.  By allowing our people to shine and creating a graceful place for accomplishment we receive a business that is not only successful but is more importantly THRIVING!
Michael spent years as a general contractor, so he knows how to manage people and projects. Michael also went on an incredible journey of self-discovery that has changed his life.  Michael shares with what he learned about himself and how that can help you and your business to:
    * Be open to asking for help
    * Giving Grace as we Manage people
    * Assigning tasks to the right people and empowering their success

From Breakdown to Breakthrough is a story of a great man and a resilient woman who, after a heartbreaking loss, bounced back and found her way from breakdown to breakthrough. L.A. Roberts’breakdown was when her grandfather (Leon) passed away. That tragedy brought a lot of despair in her heart and made her broken. She wrote her book as a promise to her grandfather before he passed away that she will continue to make him proud and that everybody will know who Leon F. Howard Sr is; this was her breakthrough.
There is a way to move from the pain that you are in right now to where you need to be which is to your purpose. Chanel Chase wrote her book Pain Process Purpose: The 3P's To Finding Your Spiritual Identity to make her readers understand that there is a process that you need to go through to discover your purpose.

  • “Are You Missing Buying Signals?” with Nikki Rausch
We have all said it so many times things like:
    I don’t know why they didn’t buy?
Or how about, “I really thought they were going to buy”?
Think about the last time you said that?
Why didn't they buy?  Why didn't we know? What could we do differently?
We all ask these questions whenever we think we should have had a sale.  Wouldn’t it be great if everyone who wanted our product just had a sign saying, “I want to buy”!
Here is shocking news!! THEY DO!  The problem is that we miss it?
Customers give us signals.  Sadly they are very unlikely to say, “Hey!  Let me buy your stuff!”  But in many ways, the things they do and say are saying exactly that.
When a customer tells us they want to buy sometimes even unconsciously, these are called “Buying Signals.”
We know how to build the like, admire and trust with a person. We know we have a product they want and need.  Maybe we even thought they were going to get it, and then…they didn’t.
Today we are going to learn how not to miss it anymore.  How to recognize buying signals our customers are giving them and then just simply invite them to do business with us.
Host Steve Kidd is joined by Award-winning Sales executive and founder of Sales Maven Nikki Rausch.  They will teach us today what we need to learn simple and powerful skills to increase your sales. Learn today how to get your customer to say yes without being pushy AND learn how to hear when a person is really telling you they want to buy.  Learn how not to miss BUYING SIGNALS!

  • Thriving Entrepreneur (#LetsTellYourStory)
In this second anthology book by Kathy Kidd, she shares another group of amazing people as they share their stories about what it means to them to live as a thriving entrepreneur.
For Ancleah Gamble, being a Thriving Entrepreneur made her feel important; that she has a voice. Providing service to other people and knowing that she was able to change people’s lives gives her a sense of fulfillment.
Monica Reed resigned from her regular job in the corporate world because she realized that it wasn’t what she was meant to do.
Let’s talk about SALES with Kathy Kidd: “If you had 10% more belief, what would be possible for you?” - SALES is about offering solutions to your clients and letting them choose. It’s about discovering what your clients need and what’s going to solve those needs.
According to Connie Knudson, you need to find your own personal best direction. You need to create and write down your goals to know what you want to accomplish. Then you have to place them in your best success direction.
Thriving in life, for Dionne Garvin, is all about prospering, growing, and operating in your most authentic self. It’s about nourishing, not only the people you serve but also nourishing yourself.
For Noreen N. Henry, thriving in life is having complete peace and focus. When she found peace and focus, she was able to discover what her passion is and see the direction that she wanted to go.
Rodney Lawson explained the importance of creating your own organizational culture and not letting others dictate it to you. You are the one who should guide it in the direction that you want it to go.
And Lastly, Steve Kidd encourages you to "Just Show Up.” You just need to be the best version of yourself and show up fully in all that you do.
