It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, and it’s finally a new season of Throwing Junk. After a long hiatus during which surely nothing important, particularly for the Houston area, happened in baseball, we’re back to guide you through the new season. Join Daniel and his new co-host (and former guest) Greg Cote as they catch you up on what’s happened, what’s going on, and what is yet to come in 2018. It’s good to be back!

A League of Their Own recently celebrated its 25th birthday, and we thought it only fitting that we celebrate this landmark baseball movie for the occasion. Joining Daniel for this episode is his Unauthorized Cinnamon cohost, Harry J. Perales.

After being delayed a week by the deadly and horrifying Tropical Storm Allison, Throwing Junk brings you a special live show in honor of LGBT Pride Month! Daniel tells us the story of Glenn Burke, the first openly gay baseball player in MLB history and inventor of the high-five! We also get into some TWIB to discuss Miguel Montero’s [Daniel apologizes for calling him Willson Contreras – ed.] questionable comments and the Cubs’ even more questionable second trip to the White House.

This week, we’re joined by our new friend Greg Cote, who talks to Daniel about trying to pick a team to root for while you move all over the country as a kid. Later, they play a game of Name That Astro based on their walkup music!

 

A little while ago we were live (look, we’ve got a lot on our plate), and joined by one of our favorite young men Cody Edgar! Topics include ASMR, The Harlem Globetrotters, and Wonder Woman. Baseball too, eventually. Also, Daniel is forced to make a heartfelt apology.

The prodigal host, our sweet baby boy Josh, returns to the podcast. Immediately, things get weird. Alex Jones impressions are performed, wrestling is discussed, and dick sensations are ranked. We apologize profusely.

This week, the boys are joined by a very special guest: host of Mocking Bird Network’s The Gallery and Daniel’s fiancee, Claudia Osorio. We talk about her learning to tolerate baseball, Madison Bumgarner’s dirtbike misadventures, and play a game where she has to decide if something happened in a baseball movie or in a real baseball game.

This week, Daniel and Ben take it upon themselves to invent a proper minor league team for the Houston area, and stumble upon maybe their best idea yet. Plus, they catch you up on the most important events from the week in baseball, including a condom on the field and crying Rangers fans! Come for the baseball talk, stay for the Dr. Who discussion.

Baseball’s back! And we’re back! What a glorious day. But alas, only half of the regular crew is back, as Josh has headed back to school. But he is being ably filled in for by one of our favorite guests, Ben Hebert. Join us as we catch you up on the happenings in the World Baseball Classic, welcome baseball back for a new season, and make predictions that are either stupid or wrong.

The boys are joined a final time by the illustrious comedy mind of Kathryn Way as Josh takes his turn to walk everyone through the story behind the notorious incident between Roger Clemons and Mike Piazza in the 2000 World Series between the New York Mets and Yankees.
