You know nothing! At least that's what it can feel like when you learn something new. Being at the crossroads of learning new information and feeling like you know very little can be challenging. Sometimes it feels as though we have already learned so much, there couldn't possibly be much more to learn. It can even be frustrating at times, having to learn more about something you thought you already knew so much about.

In this episode I discuss this strange paradox that we have all experienced. This is a pivotal moment where we either decide to be curious and begin to questions the things we do not know, or stand firm in what we know and potentially miss the new lessons. I share my own experience with this in several different aspects of my life some of which I am still actively in the middle of learning. 

We are each growing and learning everyday. As with anything, being intentional about what we are learning is key to living our ideal life. Learning is how we bridge the gap from where we are currently to where we want to be. It is the conduit to the life we have always wanted and often times we stop growing because we decide we know enough. 

Stay curious. Stay hungry to learn. Stay in pursuit of growth. Your future deserves it.

What advice would you give to your self 10 years ago? In this episode I reflect on the past decade of my life and pin point what I believe is the 1 thing that has improved my life.  There have been several people throughout my life that I shared a very special connection with and gave permission to speak into my life. Nowadays with technology, we have wider reach than ever before which dramatically increases our connection with people. The people and environments  I choose to surround myself with have always set the course for my future.  If you have kids, think of what type of kids you want your child to hang out with and why. If you don't have kids, think of when your parents told you not to hang around so and so. Within every environment there is a substance of conversations, ideas, beliefs and standards that end up imprinting on your operating system and ultimately change your view of the world even just for brief moment. If you stay in this environment long enough, you reprogram who you are and change your future. It is critical to first find the future that you want. Then you can identify the people have that future and the environments those people are in.

In todays episode, I talk very candidly about a particular belief I recently uncovered.  Beliefs are the operating systems by which we show up in the world. They are how and assign meaning to the world around us. What we believe we deserve, is exactly what we will get. 

Often times as we adopt new beliefs, they are built on the foundation of previous beliefs that may no longer support our growth. These old beliefs can be developed in a time of pain and therefore carry this pain with us as we move forward in time. I was fortunate enough to uncover one of these old beliefs that was undercutting my own growth. I talk you through what that belief was, how it started and ultimately how I began to change it.

On today’s episode Rich and JT discuss the power of thought and action as it relates to emotions. “No amount of action can beat a misaligned thought" is a quote that helps explain why you must be in tune with their thoughts and feelings in order to experience the life you want. They explain that emotions are our internal guidance system and can be used to determine if you are coming from a place of scarcity or abundance. They emphasize that even if someone appears to have a good life from an outsider's perspective, they may still perceive it negatively due to their emotions.

Rich and JT are back at it for part two of overcoming limiting beliefs and fears. They continue the conversation of limiting beliefs, and how they can prevent growth into achieving one's best version of themselves. An example was used of how different the belief systems of someone who believes in flat earth theory and Elon Musk are. The conclusion was that if those two people were to have a conversation about their reality, both would be correct and both would have very different reality experience. Rich and JT end with providing some steps you can take to create an awareness of these limiting thoughts and a method to change them to serve you at a higher level.

Rich and JT are back at the office for this episode of Thrive By Design. This conversation is about overcoming limiting beliefs and fears, part one of a part two series. They discuss the idea that the beliefs that we each have can set a limitation of what is possible in our life. Everyone has limiting beliefs to some level, which can prevent them from becoming the best version of themselves. Often these beliefs are formed by one's environment and how they grew up. They talk in depth about first hand experiences with limiting beliefs and how they overcame them. The idea is that if one believes they can do something, they can do it. However, it is important to note that some beliefs may be unrealistic and not actually achievable. The conversation encourages listeners to challenge their own limiting beliefs and to strive to overcome them.
