Native American stories, from traditional to personal and as seen through the honest lens of the American Native experience, have been woefully underrepresented in the film industry. Troy Bernier, director of the International Science Fiction Festival, sits down with returning Thunder Talk guest and Russell Bates award winner Ginew Benton to discuss certain elements of that very topic and his new film “Mirror Man”. Ojibway, Mr. Benton is a filmmaker hailing from the Shinnecock Nation Territory. We also explore him and Troy’s family connection to each other through Jazz along with the very real horrors on the Residential School system.
