Thursdays with Moire or the Pretentious Asshats of Cinema

As our covid-pocalypse rears its head, it's time to remind ourselves of how we found love and compassion through tough times. By talking about three incredibly violent post-apocalyptic kino of course! Join us over on the Thursdays With Moire film podcast where I will be joined by my good friend and Nova Scotian filmmaker Arron Kramers for a discussion on three very different pieces of Apocalyptic Cinema. Starting with Alfonso Cuaron's epic adaptation of Children of Men, George Miller's passionate and classic sequel Mad Max Fury Road, and to top it all off with the Canadian cult classic Turbo Kid! So what are you waiting for? Come drive on over and be witnessed on the next episode of THURSDAYS WITH MOIRE!

In this episode we will be discussing Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, Spider-Man Into the Spider Verse, and..... wait. That's not right. Those were films we discussed in another timeline. I almost forgot that this was a different universe, silly me! In this universe, with my co-host Devon King and special American filmmaker guest Stephen Beason, we will actually be discussing a different trio of Multiverse movies. Starting with Mr. Nobody, a film starring your favorite pal Morbius; then leading into Cloud Atlas, a rather polarizing attempt to adapt a novel that's deemed to be impossible to adapt into film; and closing off with Everything Everywhere All At Once, a modern film so beloved that even the most hardcore A24 haters seem to enjoy it. So either through this universe, or the next, we hope to reach out to you one way or another. But remember, deciding either or not to watch the podcast could lead to thousands of different possibilities!

In celebration of both shark weeks and summer blockbuster shlock, we invite you for an episode of my own design. Unfortunately our last attempt at a Western episode didn't quite pan out, so hopefully we can make up for that by taking a dive into the pirates life! On this episode, we will be joined by our good friend and artist Tad Belan as we discuss the famous Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy in celebration of Johnny Depp's recent acquittal! That includes Curse of The Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, and At World's End. The only Pirates of the Caribbean movies ever made. That's it. No others were ever made and will never be spoken of. So feel free to sail on over this thursday and take a listen to our podcast. But just so you know, even though we might be the worst podcast you've ever heard of, at least now you have heard of us! If you're looking for some important and valuable lessons in the world of composing music.... then maybe don't watch a film podcast. But, if you somehow want the best of both worlds, then Thursdays With Moire's latest episode should hopefully have you covered! On this episode, for the very first time, we will be joined by two very talented guests who are also Independent music teachers. Costa Chatzis, who teaches the Drums; and Dylan Cunningham, who teachers the art of the Guitar. So to cover all spectrums: We'll be talking about Mr. Holland's Opus to celebrate music teachers in general, School of Rock to bring attention to teaching the guitar, and Whiplash for a potentially unrealistic depiction of learning how to play the Drums. So stay tuned and prep your instruments for a very special episode of Thursdays With Moire, so no matter how you choose to listen in, we welcome any and all attention you can offer us! So, without further ado.... class is in session!
