The shepherd were unlikely candidates chosen by God to be the first messengers of the Good News – God does this with us today too!

Joseph obeys the word of God and adopts Jesus as his son, but Jesus IS the Word of God and through his life we are adopted as God’s son’s and daughters.

Mary faced many difficulties in bearing Jesus, but through it all she knew that God was with her, and gave birth to “Emmanuel,” who is now with all of us in our struggles!

Luke 1:5-24, 57-66

Continuity and surprise is how God works in our life, so we can rest on God’s reliability and anticipate new adventures.

Mark 12:41-44

God has been generous with us through Jesus, and we are called to live as generous people through the power of hearts changed by the Holy Spirit.

Mark 15:25-39

Jesus is revealed as the Son of God through his rejection of power and acceptance of suffering for others, and we are revealed as his followers through the same.

Mark 14:32-42

Through prayer, Jesus chose to take upon himself the burden of sinful humanity, so that, through prayer, we might be released from the burden of our sin.

Mark 11:15-19

Jesus is still passionate about allowing all people to come and worship the Father, so we may need to flip some tables ourselves and pay attention when our own tables get flipped!
