  • Marin · Where Does the Sun Go at Night? · how day and night work · space questions for kids · story to fall asleep

A bedtime story for curious kids about day, night, and our great spinning Earth. When the sun slips slowly down below the hills at the very end of the day, where exactly does it go to lay its head and sleep? From the deck of the Boat-Cabin, Marin and Plume make up their minds to follow its warm golden trail, all the way to the far side of the world.

Over the course of this great big journey, our two explorers come to understand something wonderfully reassuring. The sun does not go out at night, not at all, and it is never truly gone away. It simply travels onward to say a bright good morning to the children on the other side of the Earth, and it will come back round to your own window again, faithfully, every single tomorrow morning. The further they follow that golden trail, the more they understand how the whole wide world takes its turns. They sail on after that golden glow, picturing all the children far away just waking up to its light. On and on the golden glow leads them, around the curve of the world, toward a brand new morning somewhere far away.

Marin learns that night-time is not the sun disappearing for good, but only our great big planet gently turning, and that morning is always, always on its way back, no matter how dark and deep the night may sometimes feel.

This is a gentle, soothing story about the day, the night, and the slow, steady turning of our planet, made to reassure a child and help them close their eyes feeling safe and sure. It is a soothing little story about the rhythm of day and night, made to settle a worried mind.

It is the perfect story for any little one who finds the dark a little worrying, a calm and steady reminder that the light always comes back again in the end.

A screen-free audio story for children ages 3 to 5, lovely at bedtime, at nap time, or in the car. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft and quiet, without music, so your child can drift off peacefully. 🐳

  • Tom the Pirate · The Star That Fell at the End of the World · story about helping together · star · bedtime story
A bedtime story for children, and the big special episode of the Tom the Pirate season. That morning the Royal Sardine takes on board not two sailors but four: Tom has invited his two best friends. Alban is quick, climbs everywhere and throws everything. Marceau is gentler, and notices what nobody else looks at. Just time to meet Moustache, the round octopus who lives in the teapot, and to open the chest of nineteen keepsakes, before a map folded by a child's hand lands on deck.
It is signed by a little girl. Every evening she makes her wish on the same star, the one right at the bottom of the sky. Last night she watched it slide and fall into the sea, and now there is a hole in the sky. On the Royal Sardine, maps are sung rather than read, and this one sings: sail straight ahead to where the blue stops, the star has fallen in the water, take her back to her party. Course set for the End of the World.
At the End of the World the dark is thick: that corner of the sea is the one the star used to light up. Marceau is the one who spots a small trembling glow under the water: Étincelle, no bigger than a child's hand, very pale and almost out. The first idea comes to nothing. Alban climbs to the crow's nest and throws her at the sky with all his strength, and she falls straight back with a sad little plop. Then Moustache, frightened of the dark, lets go of his cloud of ink. Dark on top of dark.
So Tom stops everything and asks the right question. Why can Étincelle not go back up? Because she has already fallen once and is afraid of falling again, and because she thinks she has turned too pale for the sky to want her. Marceau promises her that her place is still up there, black and empty, waiting, and that a star is never replaced. Then Moustache's ink, the thing that spoils everything, becomes the loveliest night sky in the world. Against that velvet black she dares to shine at last, and she rises all on her own. Twentieth keepsake: a pinch of stardust.
Written for the bedtime routine, this longer episode brings two new friends into Tom's world and leaves your child a reassuring idea. To help somebody, going fast and alone is not enough: better to go slowly and together. And what you take for your own flaw, like Moustache's ink, can be exactly what others needed.
A screen-free bedtime story for children aged 3 to 5, good to share at bedtime, in the car, or before a nap. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft and quiet, with no music, so your child can drift towards sleep. 🌙

  • Cassie · A Night Under the Stars · camping story for kids · starry night story · calm story for ages 3-5

A warm, funny bedtime story for kids under a sky full of stars. Tonight in Cactus-Ville, it is the very first camping night out beneath the great big Wild West stars. Cassie and Tornado roll out their sleeping bags on the soft dusty ground, point their noses straight up at the sparkling sky, and settle in cosily for the grand evening ahead.

Between the mysterious bumps and creaks of the desert night, the long shadows that seem to shift and dance just beyond the campfire, and the sudden bursts of giggles they share to feel a little braver, our two friends have an evening to truly remember. And slowly, as the campfire crackles low and the whole night grows hushed, the wide starry sky begins to rock them gently toward sleep. Each creak and rustle turns into another shared giggle, and the campfire keeps the whole night feeling cosy and safe. The desert at night is full of surprises, but together, side by side, the two friends feel ready for anything. The fire crackles, the coyotes call far away, and the two friends huddle a little closer beneath the enormous sky.

There is a small touch of being just-a-bit-scared, the way the dark always is at first, but here every little shiver turns into a laugh, and every strange noise turns out to be nothing at all but the wind or a far-off, hooting owl.

This is a story that is cosy and joyful both at once, perfect for gazing up at the stars in your imagination and slipping softly off toward sleep. It is a warm and reassuring little tale about how the dark grows friendly when you are not alone.

It quietly shows a little one that the dark can be a friendly place when you are snug and not alone, the loveliest sort of thought to fall asleep on.

A screen-free audio story for children ages 3 to 5, lovely at bedtime or at nap time. And even after all the fun, the Tilibou ending stays soft and quiet, without music, to help everyone settle before the night. 🤠

  • Léo · Sorcellina and the Kindness Potion · story about kindness for kids · witch and potion story · podcast for kids

A bedtime adventure for children, brimming with humour. The witch Sorcellina has made a complete mess of her latest potion. Instead of turning her wicked and nasty in good time for the great witches' inspection, it has gone and made her adorable, polite, and utterly overflowing with kindness from head to toe!

For a witch, this is an absolute catastrophe, but for the rest of Tournebois it is a wonderful stroke of luck. Through one spell mishap and one funny twist after another, Leo and Pistache watch this newly sweet sorceress fumble her way through the day, holding doors open and handing out compliments left and right, and they slowly discover a happy truth: kindness might just be the very greatest power of all. The harder she tries to be wicked, the kinder she somehow becomes, much to her own utter confusion.

Little by little, Sorcellina herself begins to wonder whether being kind is really so terrible after all. The whole kingdom warms to her, neighbours wave a friendly hello, and she finds, much to her own great surprise, that helping other people actually feels rather lovely. The kinder she becomes, the happier the whole kingdom grows, and even Sorcellina cannot quite help but smile. Before long, the once-grumpy witch is helping out all over the kingdom, and finding that she rather likes it.

This is a warm, funny adventure that celebrates being kind, the kind of tale to listen to with a giggle just before bed. It leaves a child feeling, deep down inside, that gentleness is a real and mighty strength. It is a playful little adventure with a warm and generous heart at its centre.

Playful and reassuring all at once, it is the sort of story that ends the day on a happy, good-natured note, with a smile and a soft, open heart.

A screen-free audio adventure for children from age 5, fun to share at bedtime or in the car. As always with Tilibou, the ending settles softly, without music, so your child can wind down before sleep. 🐉

  • Noisette · Pinpin's Dream · story for a child who had a nightmare · bad dreams · story to fall asleep

A gentle bedtime story for children about bad dreams and being comforted. In the deep middle of the night, far inside the tree-house, a small sound wakes Noisette. It is Pinpin, her little brother, who has just had a funny, jumbled-up dream and cannot quite settle himself back down. His eyes are wide and his bottom lip is wobbling in the dark.

Very softly, so as not to wake the whole sleeping house, Noisette comforts him. She explains, in simple words a small bear can understand, that dreams, even the strangest, silliest, most muddled ones, can never really reach out and hurt you. They are only pictures in your head, made up while you sleep, and like clouds drifting across the sky they pass on by if you simply let them. She reminds him too that morning is not far away, and that he is safe and warm and surrounded by family.

Together they breathe slowly in the dark, in and out, in and out, and one by one the scary bits of the dream lose their power and fade away. Noisette stays close beside him until his eyes grow heavy again. Soon Pinpin is snuggled right back down, warm and safe, ready to sail off into much nicer dreams. Wrapped up warm again, with the dream gone quiet, Pinpin lets his little eyes fall shut once more.

This is a tender sleep story about nightmares and reassurance, just right for children whom the night sometimes makes a little uneasy. It hands a little one a calm, simple way to soothe themselves and settle back to sleep. It is a story about being comforted, and about learning, little by little, to comfort yourself in the dark.

It also shows the gentle comfort of an older sibling's care, the kind of quiet kindness that makes the dark feel smaller and friendlier. A soothing story to keep close for the nights when a child wakes up needing a bit of reassurance.

A screen-free audio story for toddlers from age 2, soothing at bedtime or in the small hours when a child wakes up. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft and quiet, without music. 🌙

  • Marin · Why Do We Yawn? · why yawning is contagious · science for preschoolers · calm story for ages 3-5

A bedtime story for curious kids, and the perfect sleepy question. Aaah, haaa, but why on earth do we yawn at all, exactly? And why is it that the very moment one single person yawns, everybody else nearby suddenly feels the irresistible urge to yawn right along with them? Marin and Plume set off, wide-eyed and curious, in search of the answer.

All along the way, and after a good many very catching yawns of their very own, our two explorers slowly learn a soothing little truth. A yawn is a soft and gentle signal. It is the body's quiet, kindly way of letting you know that the time has finally come to slow down, to settle, and to rest. There is nothing at all to fight against, it is simply a sleepy little hello. The more they talk about yawning, the more they yawn, and so, very likely, will everyone listening along. They cannot help but join in, yawning wider and wider, until the whole investigation turns deliciously sleepy. The sleepier they grow, the more certain they become that this is one mystery best solved tucked up in bed.

By the time they finally do have their answer, Marin and Plume are both feeling pleasantly drowsy, their eyelids growing heavier and heavier, and the whole story has gently lowered itself toward sleep, the very way a long, slow yawn always seems to do.

This is a cosy, curious discovery story that is absolutely just right for the slow, quiet moment just before nap time or bed. Be warned, plenty of yawns are very nearly guaranteed. It is a cosy little story made on purpose for the sleepiest, slowest moment of the whole day.

Drowsy and warm by careful design, it is the kind of story that does half the work of bedtime for you, easing a little one softly off toward sleep.

A screen-free audio story for children ages 3 to 5, perfect at bedtime or at nap time. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft and quiet, without music, so your child can drift off peacefully. 🐳

  • Cassie · Cassie Won't Say Sorry · story about admitting a mistake · saying sorry · calm story for ages 3-5

A funny, true-to-life bedtime story for kids about saying sorry. Cassie the cowgirl has gone and made a real mess of things, and everybody in Cactus-Ville knows it perfectly well. But getting her to actually say sorry out loud? No way, never, not in a million years! She would sooner saddle up and gallop clear to the far edge of the desert than let those two little syllables past her lips.

Over the course of one long, stubborn, dusty day, Cassie slowly comes around to a realisation. Saying sorry is not losing at all, and it most certainly is not weak. It is simply the way that you put things right and mend what has been broken between two people. And the real, true courage, it turns out in the end, is sometimes just owning up that you got it wrong. The longer she holds out, the heavier her stubbornness sits, until she can hardly stand it any longer. She huffs and she stomps and she finds a hundred reasons to put it off, but the feeling will not leave her be. All day long her friends wait patiently, hoping she will find the courage to put things right between them.

When she finally finds the bravery to say it, properly and out loud and from the heart, the tight knot of stubbornness inside her loosens all at once, and making up feels far, far better than digging her heels in ever did.

This is a funny, honest story about pride, apologies, and making up again, so a child can go to bed feeling lighter and at ease, with no grumpiness or hurt feelings left behind. It is an honest, funny little story that makes saying sorry feel brave rather than embarrassing.

It gently shows that everyone gets it wrong sometimes, and that one brave little sorry can set a whole heart at peace before sleep.

A screen-free audio story for children ages 3 to 5, lovely at bedtime or in the car. And even after a good laugh, the Tilibou ending stays soft and quiet, without music, to help everyone wind down before the night. 🤠

  • Léo · The Great Colour Outage · story about colours for kids · imagination story · screen-free audio story

A bedtime adventure for kids, poetic and dreamy. One morning, the whole kingdom of Tournebois wakes up completely grey. During the night, every single colour has quietly slipped away and disappeared. No more red, no more blue, no more green anywhere to be seen, and the world has turned dull, flat, and just a little bit sad.

So Leo and Pistache set off together on a quest to track down the lost colours and bring them safely home again, one by one by one. From the bluest blue of the wide open sky to the reddest red of a single rose in the garden, each colour they manage to recover lights up the world a little more. And along the way, they rediscover just how beautiful everything truly is when it shines with all of its many shades. They search high and low, from the tops of the hills to the petals of the smallest flowers, gathering colour as they go.

By the time the very last colour is finally back in its proper place, our two heroes find themselves looking at the whole kingdom with fresh new eyes, noticing small wonders they had always walked straight past before. The world was lovely all along, they had simply forgotten to stop and really look at it. Each shade they return brings the kingdom that little bit more to life, until everything glows once more.

This is a gentle adventure about wonder and the everyday beauty of the world all around us, the kind to savour slowly and quietly just before closing your eyes. A soft little nudge to notice the lovely things. It is a soft and dreamy adventure about really seeing the everyday wonders we so often miss.

It leaves a child with a calm and happy thought to carry along into sleep: that beauty is everywhere, just waiting to be seen, in the simple colours of an ordinary day.

A screen-free audio adventure for children from age 5, lovely at bedtime or in the car. As always with Tilibou, the ending settles softly, without music, so your child can drift off calmly. 🐉

  • Noisette · A Night at Granny Badger's · story about sleeping at grandma's · first night away · story to fall asleep

A reassuring bedtime story for children about a first night away from home. Tonight is a big first for Noisette: she is sleeping far from the tree-house, all the way over at Granny Badger's cosy little burrow. A new bed, a new smell, new sounds in the dark, and Mama and Papa just a little bit missed. At first, everything feels strange and unfamiliar, and her heart gives a small, homesick squeeze.

But as the evening gently unfolds, between a warm cup of herbal tea and a story told softly beside the crackling stove, Noisette slowly discovers something comforting. You can feel good somewhere new. You can feel safe and snug and well looked after, even when the people you love most are far away for the night. Granny Badger tucks the blanket in just so, and the little burrow starts to feel a great deal kinder.

By the time she curls up under that warm blanket, the strange new room has started to feel almost familiar. The shadows on the wall are friendly now, the night sounds have softened, and the little ache of missing home has melted into a sleepy, contented warmth. A familiar bedtime ritual, even in an unfamiliar place, turns out to be just the thing she needed.

This is a comforting sleep story for first sleepovers and new beginnings, for nights at the grandparents' house, a friend's home, or settling into nursery. It helps a child meet that big feeling of being far from home with gentleness and trust. It quietly prepares a child for any night spent under a new and different roof.

Most of all, it whispers a reassuring truth to a little one: home is still there, the people you love are still thinking of you, and a new bed can become a cosy one too. A soft story to ease any night spent somewhere unfamiliar.

A screen-free sleep story for toddlers from age 2, lovely to share at bedtime or nap time. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft, without music, so your little one can close their eyes feeling safe. 🌙

  • Marin · What Do Fish Do When It Rains? · curious questions about the sea · rain and weather for kids · bedtime story

A bedtime story for curious kids about seeing the world in a brand new way. When the rain comes pattering softly down across the wide-open sea, what on earth becomes of all the fish swimming far, far below? Snug and warm and dry inside the Boat-Cabin, Marin and Plume listen to the drops drumming overhead and slowly start to wonder.

Off they go, down into the cool blue depths, for a curious and refreshing little plunge beneath the waves. And there they make a truly lovely discovery: rain, when you watch it from underneath the water, looks just exactly like a beautiful, shimmering music of pearls falling and dancing all around you. It is more than enough to make you look at a grey, drizzly day in a completely different light. The deeper they dive, the more beautiful the falling rain becomes, until the grey day feels almost magical. They drift among the calm and curious fish, watching the surface ripple and sparkle high above them. All around them, the fish carry on calmly, quite at home in their cool blue world while the rain drums above.

Marin learns that even the gloomiest, greyest weather hides something quietly wonderful when you simply change where you happen to be standing, and that there is beauty to be found almost everywhere, if only you are curious enough to go and look for it.

This is a discovery story for watching the world from a fresh new angle, just perfect for rainy days and quiet, cosy evenings tucked up at home. It is a curious little story that gently teaches a child to find the beauty in even a rainy day.

It leaves a child with a gentle, hopeful idea to keep close: that even rainy days are full of small wonders, if you only know how to look at them.

A screen-free audio story for children ages 3 to 5, lovely at bedtime or nap time, at home or in the car. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft and quiet, without music, so your child can drift off peacefully. 🐳
