Welcome to Tilly at home with Thomas Olivier is a registered nutrigenomics practitioner and was the first in the UK to offer fitness and nutrition plans based on individual DNA make-up.
His innovative science-based coaching methods and his book Cracking Your Health Code have been aiding hundreds of people to achieve their optimum health.
Thomas is the Founder and CEO of Omnos.
Omnos is an A.I platform that analyses your genome combined with lifestyle assessments and functional medicine tests, to give you a scientifically validated dashboard of your health, with personalised and actionable recommendations at your fingertips.
Thomas is also the founder of Smart Health consulting.
S.H consulting is composed of a team of experts in Personalised nutrition, A.I ,IOT architecture and sustainability that help organisations to implement a smart health architecture ecosystem providing solutions to implement, track and forecast health prevention and performance while providing scientifically validated, data-driven and digitalised solution enabling the measurement of a tangible ROI.
In this totally fascinating episode, Thomas explains that by the time we are 70, 65% of the UK population will be living with two chronic conditions, living as he calls it “in a state of comorbidity” for the last 15 years of their lives and that 15% of teenagers have type 2 diabetes. He explains how these chronic conditions including diabetes, are lifestyle and diet related and can be prevented.
Thomas’ aim with Onmos and his work at Smart Health is to help people be more proactive on the preventative side of their health. He sees what he calls “a new health architecture” where the science behind health becomes less alienating and more accessible to us all, replacing disease with prevention and democratising health, so we all have the ability to take our health into our own hands as Thomas believes that wellness starts at home.
He talks about supporting your immune system rather than boosting it and how there is no such thing as the flu season, merely a time that we can become more susceptible. He explains the science behind the benefits of wild swimming and talks about the importance of reconnecting with your environment and your family, making not only your health a priority but also being proactive about your mental health too.
He gives his tips for detoxing alcohol for all of you not doing a dry January (although he says of course glass of red wine is good for you as it is full of antioxidants) but the large amounts in ethanol which is in alcohol and is toxic can be removed more quickly with the help of supplements of Glutathione and Nac, eating protein, the herbal remedy milk thistle, re-hydration tables which include sodium, potassium, and magnesium, or just some sea salt in your water, taking an Epsom salt baths, exercising, saunas, cold and hot therapy and infra-red sauna. All good things to try!
