A Sunday New York Times profile of outgoing Apple CEO Tim Cook implicitly confirmed his status as the preeminent member of what the Communist Chinese contemptuously call our “captured elite.” In practice, that means he and his company profited immeasurably by systematically betraying this country. 

Patrick McGee, the author of Apple in China, wrote: “Based on my research, I am convinced that no company has done more to enable President Xi. Since 2008, Apple has worked with suppliers to train 30 million workers, principally in China…facilitat[ing] an epic transfer of practical knowledge in how to make things to hundreds of Chinese factories.” 

Regretably, Cook’s treachery is not unique. Untold numbers of Wall Street’s “masters of the universe” have used the funds of pensioners, investors in mutual funds and other clients to underwrite China’s menacing military build-up.  

Treason must no longer pay.
