The NASC and CAHC have issued a joint statement regarding their concerns at the growing number of cases of hate-driven extremism, violence, racism, intolerance and harassment being perpetrated against minority groups and individuals from such groups. Tim Hanley of LGBT Ireland chats with Adrianne about their concerns and the measures they have put forward and would like our government to act upon i.e. proper education surrounding hate crime and hate speech and updating of legislation on hate here in the state and it being fully acted upon when someone reports hate crimes. They are also asking for new legislation where social media companies will be held accountable for cyberbullying and trolling. For info, or to report a crime please contact the Garda National Diversity Unit or www.cahc.ie
