Abigail Wiggins lead us through the final chapter and part of our Philippians series looking at Philippians 4.

Discussion Questions:

When you hear the words true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent or praise-worthy, what comes to mind? Are these things you think about often (dwell on, Phil 4:18)? Why or why not?

Where have you let wounds (scar tissue) keep you from loving people or becoming a better friend?

When Thomas asked Jesus for proof of His scars, He (Jesus) showed him. From this interaction, do you think we should be afraid to voice our doubts to God? Why/ why not?

What are areas in life where you might need to slow down and acknowledge that God is still working on your story? What does this look like practically for you?

KC Young taught on Philippians 3, and really broke down the whole chapter. He asked several really profound questions which led to great discussion. How would you answer these?

Discussion Questions:

-Do you find it difficult to "rejoice in the Lord" during difficult circumstances? What does that look like?

-What do you think it means to worship by the Spirit of God?

-Do you tend to focus on your past? How can we shift our focus towards God's current work in our lives?

-Is it obvious to people in your life that you have been with Jesus?

Dick Foth shared on Philippians 2, diving deeper into our shared invitation as Jesus followers to servanthood.

-What are the qualities of a servant?

-What would happen in our culture, if we led with "Anything I can do for you?"

-What are the implications of "the Name of Jesus" in everyday life?

Josh Stone shared and introduced our series on Philippians. He gave background on the book and addressed several verses from Philippians chapter 1.

-What do you think Paul meant by the “struggle” in Philippians 1:30?

-When have you felt the odds totally stacked against you?

-Can you share a story of feeling “together” with a friend or group of friends during a tough situation?

-Can you describe the bond you have with a friend that you went through something tough with?

-Is trusting in God a privilege to you?

Josh Stone lead us through the final part of our series on Vision, looking at service and personal ministry. He invited us to consider the reasons why we serve, and proposed that our primary objective should be knowing and being with God.

What personal allegiances do you have that compete or get in the way of your allegiance to Jesus or His community?

When was a time when you felt most isolated or alone? Was it because of circumstances outside your control or did you make decisions that led you into isolation or both?

How can you personally, at in Timberline Church and at Timberline 20’s & 30’s practice or build into our lives together the practice of confession and repentance?
