9.25.18 // In this message Justin shares about the way God uses our not enough and makes it enough from the account of the feeding of the five thousand.

9.18.18 // The genealogy of Jesus is wild. The people who were included in the family line that brought our redeemer were broken and messy people. In this message Hillary shares specifically about the women in this family line and how significant their presence in the story of Jesus is for us today.

Discussion questions:

-What stood out to you in what Hill said?

-What does it mean to you that God chose these women to be a part of Jesus' genealogy? Why does it matter?

-What does the word 'redeemed' mean to you? How do you see redemption in the world today?

-Is it easy or difficult to believe that God wants to redeem your story and use you to help point others toward redemption?

9.11.18 // It's easy to write off people like Jonah. So often we hear this story in children books, and we think that we would never do what he did. In this message we hear Justin share the full picture of Jonah, why he was an unlikely choice for God to use, and how we are actually just like him.

Discussion Questions:

-What are your thoughts and opinions about the book of Jonah?

-How are you similar to Jonah?

-Have you had a time where you were running from God? If so, were you aware at the time that was what you were doing?

-Do you have a 'Ninevah'? Who are people that are hard for you to love and wish blessings for?

-What is your response to God's question to us, 'Should not I have concern for (your) Ninevah?'

9.4.18 // We're spending the fall looking at unlikely people that God used in the Bible in our series called A Seat At The Table. Turns out basically everyone in the Bible that God chose were not qualified. In this message Mackenzie shares all about discipleship and why the 12 disciples were all wrong for the job.

-If you were Jesus, picking your disciples who eventually carry on your entire ministry, what kind of people would you choose?

-Why is it important for us today that Jesus chose the disciples he chose?

-Is there anyone who you know who you can tell has been with Jesus? What stands out about them?

-When was a time you counted yourself out early? What happened? What could have happened if you hadn’t counted yourself out?

-Do you consider yourself a disciple of Jesus? If so, what does discipleship mean for you or look like for you?

-When was a time you were in over your head? Did your dependence on Jesus change?

Hannah Thomas shared on Bad Friendship Advice, concluding our semester-long Bad Advice Series. Often we hear the phrase when it comes to friendship, "forgive and forget." In this message Hannah really unpacks what it looks like to reconcile relationships, have good boundaries and to live biblically in this area of our friendships.

Discussion Questions:

What do you think are some marks of good, healthy friendship?

Have you ever forgiven someone and still cut them from your life?

What are some good boundaries for friendships? How about some poor boundaries?

Have you ever needed to get over something or talk to someone? Was it difficult? Do you feel like it was worth it?

Is there anyone who you are not at peace with currently? What do you think your next steps are in moving towards peace?

Justin opened the floor to share the worst spiritual advice you've ever been given. The recording starts abruptly during that sharing. He focused primarily on the most common topic of bad advice, which is doubt. What do you do in the face of your own doubt? What have you been told in the past? Justin encouraged all of us, to know we are not alone in doubt.

In which area of your life would you say you have the most doubts? In your relationships? At school? In your faith?

How do you respond or react to your doubt?

When you hear that some of the "big names" in the Bible: David, John the Baptist, and Thomas had doubts, how does that make you feel?

What hit you the most in what Justin had to say? Why did it stand out to you and what can you do with it?
