It's easy to remember God's faithfulness when life is going well, but much harder when we're walking through seasons of uncertainty, disappointment, or struggle. Psalm 136 calls God's people to remember- not because God forgets, but because we do. Recounting God's work throughout creation, the Exodus, the wilderness, and the Promised Land, this psalm reminds us that His steadfast love has been present through every chapter of His people's story. When we remember what God has done in the past, we gain confidence to trust Him with both the present and the future.
The story of Israel ultimately points to our own journey of faith. God is our Creator who gives us purpose, our Rescuer who brings freedom through Christ, our Shepherd who faithfully forms us through life's wilderness seasons, and our Giver who invites us to live in the fullness of His promises. No matter where you find yourself today, God's faithful love has not changed. As we remember His goodness, our hearts are strengthened to follow Him with confidence, worship Him with gratitude, and share His love with the world.
