The BBC attempt the UK's first big reality series by sending groups of people to spend a year on a not so deserted island in Castaway. Though it's remembered as being the show that launched Ben Fogle, in practice, it was a mess. Poorly planned, and poorly executed with most of those who took part either leaving before the end or suing the production company. Next, At Home with The Braithwaites, the show that launched Sally Wainwright and the almost forgotten but still absolutely perfect, Clocking Off, with one of the best ensemble casts to ever grace our screens.
