The Lord had made great promises to the children of Israel as they entered the land of Canaan. Along with the promise was also a command to drive out the inhabitants who dwelt there. Fast forward many years and we see God's people did not fully obey. The Jebusites inhabited Jerusalem and it would be many more years before a king would arise and take the city. Today Brother Mike shows us how this story parallels our own lives by the things we allow in, and permit to stay there.

James makes it clear that rejoicing in boasting is evil. We also learn from this passage of scripture that there is a sin of omission. Tonight Brother Mike unpacks these verses and shows us that we can all be guilty of what James is warning us about, but with that warning is the hope in Christ we can always be better.

In this prison letter Paul writes to the Philippian Church and expresses how he is willing to be offered upon the sacrifice and service of their faith, alluding to the Old Testament drink offering. In this mornings message Brother Mike touches on the fact that even though Paul was unsure how things would go with him, there are questions we can ask ourself to determine how things are with us.

In tonights message Brother Mike visits the six cities of refuge. They were evenly distributed perfectly. This meant that the cities were close to all; no one was very far from a city of refuge. This was obviously important when the avenger of blood chased you. As Christians we also sometimes need places to flee to for protection, or more accurately, we need someone to flee to.

In Deuteronomy Chapter 6 Moses reminds Israel of the commandment and warning. Verse 16 deals specifically with not tempting the Lord. They tempted God and limited the Holy One of Israel. In today's message Brother Mike also looks at Exodus Chapter 3, the assurance from the Lord that He was come down to deliver and what deliverance looks like in our lives today.
