Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel. You are to worship at a distance, 2 but Moses alone is to approach the Lord; the others must not come near.

This is the purpose that Moses brought Israel out of Egypt to serve God. So here all Israel was to work together to build the tabernacle and for this generation it’s the first time their working together for something they can call their own.

Make the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by a skilled worker. 2 All the curtains are to be the same size—twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide.

Exodus Chapter 21 is about laws regarding servants, personal injury, and property. This chapter commences the discussion of the laws given to the people of Israel, with some still being used in modern society. The Lord told Moses that these were the laws that he was to give to the Israelites

 Exodus chapter 22 summary continued the judgments. It began with property laws. If a thief was caught stealing and was killed in the process of the owner attempting to recover his goods that were stolen, no one would be guilty of the thief’s blood.

Jethro is called a priest of Midian and became father-in-law of Moses after he gave his daughter, Zipporah, in marriage to Moses.  Jethro is recorded as living in Midian. The Ten Commandments concern matters of fundamental importance in Judaism and Christianity: the greatest obligation (to worship only God), the greatest injury to a person (murder), the greatest injury to family bonds (adultery), the greatest injury to commerce and law (bearing false witness), the greatest inter-generational obligation (honor to parents), the greatest obligation to community (truthfulness), the greatest injury to movable property (theft). Chapter 15 of Exodus begins with the children of Israel singing a song to the Lord for His glorious triumph God performed for them.

The song sang about how fear and dread will fall upon the countries nearby who hear and heard of the Lord’s greatness He did towards Israel, which He has purchased.

Then Miriam, who was called the prophetess, took a timbrel and went with the women singing, shouting, and dancing before God.

After all the singing praising and dancing, Moses brought them to the wilderness of Shur and Marah, but they could not find water to drink.

The moods of the people sank quickly as they began to speak against Moses. Moses cried to the Lord and the Lord showed him what to do.

And the Israelites just keeps complaining, about food and water, Moses cries out to God numerous times.

I started smoking at the age of 15 and i am 50 now. Up until a few years ago, 2018 things about my health were coming to light, first I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, then about a month later with COPD,, which is basically an umbrella term for 3 disorders... emphysema, chronic bronchitis and asthma...well I have 2 of those and 1 isn't asthma, so they diagnosed my copd stage 4. I am on 2 liters of o2 at night only. I decided to talk about my journey on here, I know its a little off topic. This episode tells you about what to expect coming up as my journey continues.

They are committed to their ideals, even if the work to build a new society feels overwhelming to them. At the beginning of this parashah, Pharaoh finally agrees to let the Israelites leave Egypt. This decision was long in coming, as Pharaoh had agreed several times before but then reneged on his promises.

 One of the biblically ordained Three Pilgrimage Festivals, Passover is traditionally celebrated in the Land of Israel for seven days and for eight days among many Jews in the Diaspora, based on the concept of yom tov sheni shel galuyot.

In the Bible, Passover marks the Exodus of the Children of Israel from Egyptian slavery, when God "passed over" the houses of the Israelites during the last of the ten plagues. When the Temple in Jerusalem stood, the paschal lamb was offered and eaten on Passover eve, while the wave offering of barley was offered on the second day of the festival. Nowadays, in addition to the biblical prohibition of owning leavened foods for the duration of the holiday, the Passover seder is one of the most widely observed rituals in Judaism.

What Was the Parting of the Red Sea? The miracle of the parting of the Red Sea was performed by God through Moses, seven days after the Israelites ’ Exodus from Egypt. Pharaoh and the Egyptian armies had pursued Israel to the water. Moses turned to God in prayer, and God instructed him to raise his staff. A strong east wind blew, and the sea parted, allowing the Israelites to walk through it on dry land.
