The discussion today revolved around, the issue with the JAMA study and how it portrayed intermittent fasting due to the participants eating whatever they wanted and how much they wanted. They also consumed non-caloric drinks during their fasting periods. We discussed how the sweet taste affects the brain and releases insulin and how insulin then stores fat. We also discussed the concept of calories in versus calories out.
With what was covered this week I ask you to start reducing your sweeteners while you're fasting, remove them, try to fast clean, hit the minimum of 16 hours and try to cut out processed foods. Let's work on getting everything cleaned up, but take baby steps. If you're drinking a lot of diet drinks, cut them out first, then work on cleaning up the food and then work on your 16 hours. See how you feel.
