Timeless Perspectives!
Episode 15
Before You Conclude!
Host: Alina Safir
"Judging others makes us blind, whereas love is illuminating. By judging others we blind ourselves to our own evil and to the grace which others are just as entitled to as we are."
-Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Are you judgy? Well, Not many people would be aware even if they were, isn't it easy for people to form an opinion about a person without knowing the entire story? Yet they often forget about how it stops them from opening up and how it dumps their self esteem! I believe there are very few people who would actively want to upset others, Right? What can you do if you feel misunderstood?
Hey there! My name is Alina Safir and I welcome you to yet another amazing episode of "Timeless Perspectives" where I'll be sharing my opinion on how to react next time you’re feeling the urge to be a little “judgy” of others.

Welcome to a brand new episode of Timeless Perspectives!
I'm in conversation with a very special guest today - Anika Sharma, an aspiring lawyer, an animal rights activist, and a social worker. She is associated with a number of NGO(s) dedicated to promoting animal welfare and raising a voice against animal cruelty. Anika believes in wearing her Indic Identity with pride on her sleeves.
In this episode we talk about her take on the insides of the legal careers, both good and the not so good aspects of the field. I’m sure you would not only enjoy her insights but also feel inspired by her thoughts.
Tell us in the comments what do you think about it?
I'm once again in conversation with Sparsh Nitin who is a student, content creator, TEDx speaker and an Indic wing activist. Sparsh has been running a Youtube channel ‘Happy Reading And Exploring’, where he talks about a plethora of interesting things. He’s already given a TEDx talk at such an early stage in his career, and I’m sure you’d enjoy his views.
Welcome to a brand new episode of Timeless Perspectives! I'm once again in conversation with my friend Stephanie, all the way from the US. Stephanie is a very experienced ESL (English as a secondary language) Trainer at Hallo, an avid reader, a Blogger and a Linguistics student. Very soon, Stephanie is going to be a published author! We’re discussing a very serious concern as to why the youth of modern times is far from reading literature as compared to previous times. Stephanie feels it is a mix of reasons such as information explosion due to digital revolution, easy distractions due to social media, our reduced attention span, and perhaps (controversially) the type of literature produced in modern times.
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we did!

I'm once again in an amazingly thought-provoking conversation with my friend Ananya, on the practice of Ostracism or Canceling people for voicing differing/dissenting opinions. The cancel culture mostly has negative connotations in the age of Free Speech activism. My friend Ananya, is currently pursuing a B.Des in Fashion and Apparel from Footwear Design and Development Institute. She is bold, opinionated, unapologetic and extremely outspoken, and someone whom I really admire.
Due to the advent of social media, it seems to have become very easy to cancel someone who doesn't conform to a set narrative. However, this weaponizing of the cancel culture is being widely questioned by advocates of freedom of speech, exposing the hypocrisy of the canceling mob. Ananya and I discuss this issue with a very balanced approach weighing it on its merits and demerits.
Tell us in the comments what do you think about the Cancel Culture and whether you think it's been monopolized by a few?
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we did!

We are having a conversation on a very abstract kind of a topic- mimimalism. Due to the advent of social media and people's inclination to live a more content and meaningful life, everybody seems to be running behind minimalistic lifesyle. However, do we understand minimalism in its entirety? And most importantly, is the popular understanding of minimalism, fundamentally true?
Stephanie takes a very balanced appraoch in trying to explain the merits and demerits of minimalism, and how to consider minimalism as a mindset instead of a mindful.
Send me your messages on Instagram @_shreyashsharma about what do you think about minimalism and whether you'd incorporate it in your life or not?

I'm in conversation with a highly ambitious, unapologetically honest and outspoken personality; Tanya Srivastava. She is a writer, a debater, a student activist and a great friend of mine. We write for the same blogsite, and finally I have managed to bring her on my channel. Some of her blogs have been really controversial and she is always open for a rebuttal.
In this episode, Tanya talks about the social media beauty cult and it's catastrophic consequence on the mental health of people across all ages. With the digital revolution, social media has become a very important part of our life. So much that we have entered what Tanya calls a 'Social Media Utopia' and everyone is just looking for validation online, and in that effort damaging their mental and even physical health.

I'm in conversation with a very special person, Kanishka Mittal, ICSE 2022 National Topper, who has secured AIR-1 with 99.8% and has made everyone proud with her accomplishment. She was felicitated by Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Brajesh Pathak. She made it to the front page of Times of India and almost every other newspaper in the city. In her interview with the Times, Kanishka shared that she draws inspiration from our beloved PM. Kanishka, who is also my junior, is a student of City Montessori School’s Kanpur Road Campus.
In this episode, Kanishka has shared how she prepared for this goal with an unwavering focus amidst all the uncertainty and challenges that came her way. The insights Kanishka shared are worth reflection and can inspire people across all ages.

I'm in conversation with Sparsh Nitin who is a student, a blogger, a YouTuber, and a Hindu human rights activist. Sparsh has been running a successful Youtube channel ‘HRE: Happy Reading And Exploring’, where he talks primarily about Hinduism and a plethora of other intriguing issues.
We are having a conversation on a topic which is of my personal interest, Sanatana dharma. However, we are discussing something broader and deeper. The constant detachment of Hindu youth from its religious identity is really bothersome. In this episode Sparsh, from his own experiences, tries to explain as to why the Hindu youth finds its religion uncool, and more importantly how to fix this problem.
