EFF leader Julius Malema says they will not allow people to be killed on the basis of their identity. Malema was speaking during a picket at Uganda’s high commission in Pretoria on Tuesday against the passing of the Anti Homosexuality Bill by Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni.

The bill, which was approved last week by Ugandan MPs, recommends heavy sentences including the death penalty, for homosexuality. 

The EFF delivered a memorandum to the Ugandan government, which was signed and received on behalf of the high commissioner, who is said to be out of the country.

In June 2011 then 17-year-old Westville Girls High School pupil Anastasia Jennifer Lite almost became a victim of “Facebook rapist,” Thabo Bester when she agreed to meet with him at a hotel in Durban for an interview.

Lite, who currently resides in the United Kingdom where she is studying towards her MBA in Finance at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, told TimesLIVE Bester had been in contact with her via Facebook on June 23, 2011.

He says the youth have always been at the forefront of change in South Africa. Tambo was speaking to the media in Pretoria on Monday during the party's planned nationwide shutdown. The EFF is calling for President Cyril Ramaphosa to resign and an end to load-shedding.

Leader of the Soweto Parliament Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini says he won’t tolerate “nonsense” as he counteracts the EFF’s national shutdown.

From the early hours on Monday Dlamini was on the streets in Soweto to “protect” the area during EFF leader Julius Malema’s “revolution”.

He claimed several bottle stores were bombed in the area. He said his home was bombed and he accused the EFF of wanting to kill his family.

Just a week after his marriage, deputy president Paul Mashatile is at the centre of a drama allegedly involving an ex-girlfriend who is now being investigated by the police.

A representative opened a criminal complaint on Mashatile's behalf against the woman, alleging she wanted to kill the deputy president. The woman approached his wedding venue last week, getting as far as the gate, to confront Mashatile.
