Former domestic worker Ntombizodwa Merriam Mahlangu obtained her BA degree in Human and Social Studies from UNISA in 2018 and now wants to help other helpers achieve the same success.

Now, Mahlangu is launching a non-profit company, Help One Helper, to help others like her. Through this initiative, she aims to empower helpers such as domestic workers, gardeners, nannies and handymen to achieve their full potential and change their lives for the better. This entails providing information on how to enrol at varsity, providing career guidance and financial assistance.

Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented from 5pm to 10pm on Tuesday, with the possibility of higher stages should any breakdowns occur during the day.

Rhulani Mathebula will act as Generation Executive while the recruitment process is in order. Mathebula was group executive for generation before Dukashe's appointment and has a history as power station GM.

EFF leader Julius Malema and police minister Bheki Cele were among the speakers on Saturday at the funeral of Hillary Gardee, who was found dead after allegedly being shot in the back of her head.

Cele said: “She had tough, bad last hours.”

He said he would return to the family to provide more details. “It's a scary story.”

Malema urged Cele to be on the same side as him and oppose bail on Monday.

The funeral service of Hillary Gardee is under way in Kamagugu in Nelspruit on Saturday.

Hillary’s aunt, Shariffa Gardee, explained what they know about her disappearance and murder.

“She was nowhere to be found and her phone was switched off,” her aunt said.

On Friday police arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with Gardee’s murder.

Police say they are cracking the case.

There have been growing calls from civil groups, activists, pupils and parents for the implementation of progressive school uniform guidelines for LGBTQIA+ pupils across South African schools. School uniform policies have previously been focused on affordability and accessibility.
