In this episode Timmy talks about how to cultivate more positivity in your life. We all have bad days, can't fault anyone for that, it's part of being human. But, when we go through the town of negativity we shouldn't buy a house and move in there. Just pass through. Especially right now in the world, more than ever it's challenging to stay positive! It's hard to see the good when so much is sh*t. But it is a matter of perspective, and THAT we can control. Enjoy.
I am super excited about this particular interview with Jay Bakker, the son of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker. Just google his parents, you'll need to set aside some time to read it all. But more importantly it will give you a context for which to understand Jay's journey. Jay is a thinker, an intellectual, someone I really really liked speaking with. He and I share a similar journey out of the Evangelical Christian Church. Just listen and enjoy my conversation with someone I consider to be a new friend, and someone I highly respect.
This is Timmy's interview with Bishop Carlton Pearson. Carlton D'metrius Pearson (born March 19, 1953) is an American Christian minister. At one time, he was the pastor of the Higher Dimensions Evangelistic Center Incorporated, later named the Higher Dimensions Family Church, which was one of the largest Evangelical churches in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Then Carlton had a profound encounter with God that lead him down an entirely different path. It's a story of loss, but also a story of redemption and enlightenment. I think you will really enjoy Timmy's interview with Carlton. Sit tight, here we go!
In this episode Timmy talks about how good things can become bad, like religion. How is religion and/or Christianity bad? When people think we must believe just like them, vote like them, have the same perspectives as them to be good, is actually a bad thing. Religion seems to create an US vs THEM mentality, which is toxic and very harmful. And ultimately it's not a good thing to think you know something when no one actually knows.
Timmy talks about knowing the truth, and when you do know what is really true, not a belief, not a conviction, not an opinion, but what is actually true, it does set you free.
Timmy talks about how valuable time is, and we all have the same amount of it, but it's what we spend our time doing each day that makes all the difference in living a life we love or a life we hate. Enjoy!
In this episode Timmy explores the Evangelical Christian view of the Bible being the word of God. But is it actually the word of God? Or is it the Word of Man about God? Give it a listen and you decide.
