Bruce co-founded three successful private equity firms including Parthenon Capital, Hastings Equity Partners and Lexington Search Fund Capital. Bruce has been involved in more than 30 Private Equity transactions (buy & sell-side), raised over $1.3B capital, in addition to numerous individual private investments. Bruce is a frequent guest lecturer at Babson College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Michigan Business School. He has an undergraduate degree in BSME from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, MS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Welcome to another episode of Tinsley Park Talks with host Najeeb Baqui, and guest Simin Sun, an attorney, a great friend and a family man. Simin is a corporate partner at Haynes and Boone, LLP. He assists clients in connection with complex mergers and acquisitions (both on the buyer and seller side), especially those that contain a technology or international component, and corporate securities matters, especially those that involve capital raises through public or private equity or debt. He also advises on general corporate matters and strategic planning. Simin grew up in China but came to the United States early in his life. He studied finance for his undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin and got his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Houston with his wife Elizabeth and their two children.
Welcome to another episode of Tinsley Park Talks with host Najeeb Baqui, and guest Steve Biggs, who is an independent consultant and board member and is one of the Advisors at Tinsley Park Partners. Steve’s experience includes 15 years with the private equity firm, Hastings Equity Partners, where he served as the CFO for two portfolio companies and provided diligence and transition support for over a dozen companies. To some degree Steve's role was to help build the bridge for the business owner from "owner/entrepreneur" to private equity backed portfolio company leader. Prior to Hastings, Steve spent 11 years with Contact East/Stanley Supply during which he served as CFO and Vice President of Business Development. Following the company’s acquisition by Advent International in 1998, Steve helped complete four strategic add-ons in two years, doubling the size of the business and resulting in the sale of the company to The Stanley Works in 2001. Early in his career, Steve had financial roles of increasing responsibility with other companies and after leaving Hastings in 2019, he worked for Grant Thornton's Strategic Advisory team for a little over a year, finally settling into independent consulting in early 2021. He has an MBA from Bentley University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts.

Welcome to another episode of Tinsley Park Talks with host Najeeb Baqui, and guest Stephen Trauber who joined Citi in 2010 and currently serves as Vice Chairman and Global Co-Head of Natural Resources and Clean Energy Transition and serves on the senior executive and operating committee of the global investment and corporate bank. Mr. Trauber previously worked at UBS Investment Bank from 2003–2010 as Vice Chairman and Global Head of Energy. Mr. Trauber began his career out of business school with Credit Suisse First Boston (1988–1995) and subsequently managed Morgan Stanley’s Energy Group in Houston (1995–2003).
Mr. Trauber has served as financial advisor on over $600 billion of global energy transactions, which include many of the most significant M&A and financing transaction throughout all of the energy subsectors. These transactions represent many of the energy industry’s largest and most transformative transactions. Additionally, Mr. Trauber has worked with and served as lead financier for many of the industry’s IPOs as well as both equity and debt capital markets transactions in the past 34 years.
Welcome to another episode of Tinsley Park Talks with host Najeeb Baqui, and guest David Lax who studied math, statistics and social science at Princeton, Stanford and Harvard where he received a PhD in statistics and began his professional career as a professor at Harvard Business School, where he taught HBS's first course solely on negotiation and co-founded HBS’s first executive course on negotiation.
He began advising companies in complex negotiations and formed Lax Sebenius LLC with his HBS coauthor to advise in negotiations and to help companies improve their capability to do consistently better in negotiations. In 2006, he and coauthor James Sebenius combined their academic knowledge with what they had learned about negotiating deals - to write 3D Negotiation. It serves as the methodology for Lax Sebenius’s consulting and capability-building engagements. His latest venture, Riva, uses AI to assist coaches in helping job candidates negotiate their job offers.
Welcome to another episode of Tinsley Park Talks with host Najeeb Baqui, and guest David Conrod who is co-founder and chief executive officer of FocusPoint Private Capital Group. Prior to co-founding FocusPoint — which raises capital for private equity, credit, real estate, real assets and direct transactions in developed and emerging markets — Conrod was a senior managing director at Guggenheim Partners, where he established its private fund group, obtaining more than $7 billion of fund allocations for general partnerships external to the firm.
