It is based on the American channel of the same name. It launched on 30 April 2013 at 8:00 p.m.,[1] replacing Discovery Real Time and DMAX +2.[2] The original version of TLC was launched in 1994 and was subsequently renamed Discovery Home & Leisure and later Discovery Real Time as part of Discovery's catalogue of themed channels. Given that TLC is chasing a completely different demographic than the old TLC, Discovery is treating it as a new channel launch rather than a return. On 30 April 2013, TLC +1 was launched, replacing DMAX +2. A two-hour timeshift, TLC +2, was launched on 16 September 2013. It closed down on 27 April 2018, and was rebranded as Discovery Turbo +1.[3] #90DayFiancé is an American documentary/reality TV series on TLC that follows couples who have applied for or received a K-1 visa (available uniquely to foreign fiancés of U.S. citizens) and therefore have ninety days to marry each other. The purpose of the K-1 Visa is to allow time for the couple to make arrangements for and actually have the marriage ceremony. The visa is not to give the couple time "to decide IF" they will marry. Each couple has already signed document(s) stating that they have promised to marry each other, and provided the signed document(s) to the US Immigration services to get the K-1 Visa. The series debuted on January 12, 2014, and has been renewed through its seventh season.[1] The series currently has six spin-offs: 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, which documents the ups and downs of past 90 Day Fiancé couples after their marriage; 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, which follows couples that have met each other online, but have not yet started the K-1 visa process; 90 Day Fiancé: What Now?, an original digital series that gives updates on past 90 Day Fiancé couples; 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, a dedicated series to couples where the American partner permanently moves into their partner's home country instead of the foreign partner doing so; 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk, a reaction show featuring a number of previous cast members that take part in reacting to an episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After; and The Family Chantel, focused on the relationship of 90 Day Fiancé season four cast members Pedro and Chantel, and their immediate family.
