In this session, we cover the strategic and technical innovations that have driven T-Mobile's digital transformation journey, with a focus on AWS serverless (AWS Lambda) and container technologies (Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS). Learn about T-Mobile's Shift-Right strategy that anchors most new development with serverless and containers, which led to the build-out of their open-sourced, Jazz Function-as-a-Service platform. We review workload characteristics that play to the strengths of containers versus Lambda and vice versa, and hear how T-Mobile achieved CPNI compliance requirements while running AWS workloads. We also dive into the analytics data-lake that combines Hadoop on premises, Intel Gluster technology to support ML, along with Amazon S3, Aurora PostGres, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon EMR.
