Lead Heads! We are back, fresh from our AK Koncepts rifle class at Royal Range USA in Nashville Tennessee! In this episode Lefty has the gang from 212° Training Group, Jared, Aaron & Kyle, to go over the 2 day training course outline and the 'Whys" behind it. We invite a few of the students on to get their perspectives on the class. Next up is Brian Keeney with Occam Defense Solutions to talk about his Armorer's portion of the AK Koncepts 2 day curriculum. Joining Brian is our good friend and long time Lead Head James Yeager with Tactical Response who shares some of his personal AK-47 stories with us and Jeff Carmichael, Royal Range's top armorer.

 Day 1

* Brief discussion on ballistics, the zero, and the prone position* Discussion on most effective stance relative to recoil mitigation* Range- Zero and baseline performance testing (up drills and manipulations)* Break Out Session- Classroom with Brian* Range session- Reloads: Speed and Proactive/Tac Reloads; Various methods and efficiency discussion* Lunch* Rhythm and Cadence* Quick rundown of relationships of stance, grip, sights, trigger, and follow-through* Discussion of trigger; Placement of finger, articulation of trigger and finger (fulcrums and forces), 3 phases of trigger (pre-travel, wall, break), follow-through, and reset. Speed formula* End of day competition: Greatest drill ever (1 shot speed load 1 on timer) And Joe won...

Day 2:

* Zero and prone work on shot timer. 10 sec PAR time for 5 rounds from standing to prone. We shot at 1" squares * Break out session: Brian in class on fire control group* Range session: Basic movement off line. (front, back, right, left). Just enough to get gun on target then STOP and send some love. Hips and shoulders remain squared to target* Move and shoot. Maintain cadence and rhythm.* Lunch* Handgun draw work (Working down from 5 sec PAR to 1.5 sec)* Primary to secondary transitions. * Quick, Careful, Precise * 22422 Prep and Competition
