Women and Words Overview
1-7 October 2016
Jove Belle and Andi Marquette this week -- at turns philosophical and at others, reminiscent of squirrels who ate way too much sugar.
1 October: A Reader’s Perspective with Erin Saluta, and in honor of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, she did a blog on lesfic books that include breast cancer/characters that deal with it.

4 October: Author and Women and Wordster D Jordan Redhawk is just about done with her latest book, and she’s in that weird twilight zone between projects. She talks a bit about that, and for the record, Jove and Andi think she should totally do that “sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll” thing she brought up.

5 October: Author and Women and Wordster Carsen Taite joined us to remind us that Women’s Week in Provincetown, Massachusetts, is about to commence next week (10-16 October). She will be there, as will a plethora of other authors. Andi and Jove note that there are all kinds of performances and fun stuff going on (including Kate Clinton and Lily Tomlin!). AND Carsen’s latest, Without Justice, drops in December.

6 October: A twofer today! Author and Women and Wordster Fiona Zedde is soon to be off gallivanting again, this time to South Africa. She also provides a travel site she uses that will no doubt ruin all of us because of the cheap fares available. Her latest, Rise of the Rain Queen, is set in southeastern Africa.

7 October: Author and Women and Wordster Andi Marquette had the great fun and fortune to interview three writers/founders of the amazing geek culture blog, Lady Geek Girl and Friends, which is geekdom/pop culture analysis through a queer, feminist, and religious perspective.

Jove would also like everybody to watch Halloween movies this month every chance you get, and to remember to check out Women’s Week!
