Rep. Alma Hernandez is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Arizona House of Representatives representing District 3 since January 14, 2019. Hernandez was elected in 2018 to succeed term-limited State Representative Macario Saldate.
Rep. Hernandez is Jewish and was the first Mexican-American Jew to win an elected position in American history. Her brother, Daniel Hernández Jr., also serves as State Representative.
Rep. Hernandez is a native of Tucson, Arizona, and attended the University of Arizona before becoming involved as the program coordinator of Bridging the Gap, a program that helps women living with HIV/AIDSRep.
