Writing and publishing your first book can be quite challenging. As a matter of fact it can feel overwhelming especially if you don’t see yourself as a writer.
Some people disqualify themselves from even starting to write a book by inserting limiting beliefs into the narrative surrounding book writing. They might say something to the effect, “I’m not a writer.” “I can’t do that.” “I was never good at writing” and on and on they’ll go.
What this does, is strengthen the belief. The stronger the belief, the less likely they’ll ever write a book.
I know that I’m not a writer first. I am a motivational speaker who happens to write. I have to keep it in that order so that I don’t default to my limiting thinking belief.
There is also the fear of what people might think or say. The thought of having your work scrutinized and criticized is enough to put an end to the dream of becoming a published author.
However, this doesn’t have to be that way.
Here are 7 tips to change that narrative. These are tips to help you in the writing and publishing of your first book:
1. Don’t attempt to write a perfect book
2. Write to one person
3. Use a good writing tool you’re comfortable with
4. Write regularly (often)
5. Outline your book
6. Have it proof read
7. Self publish
In this episode, we will explore these 7 tips with examples demonstrating some of the how to’s.
These are just a few of the ideas shared in this episode. You will hear the word flight instead of episode mentioned here. This will fit with the launching idea of the podcast
