Any chef or baker will tell you that cast iron pans are great, but to the budding chef or home cook they can be a bit of a mystery and sometimes scary to use. They are a great tool in the kitchen, but it seems there is a lot of contradictory information out there and people tend to avoid using cast iron cookware.
