TMXS- 37 Blake Shipman (BShipman Films)

On this episode, I talk to Blake Shipman from B Shipman films. He’s one of the OG filmer’s out of Oklahoma and his recent mini doc feature titled Handmade Dream 202 with Vinnie Carbone out in Reche Canyon caught my attention and I thought it was time to find out a little bit more about how he got his start, what the early days of filming were like, uploading his first video to a site called YouTube in 2005. What it was like to get a call while on a film shoot in San Diego, CA that his house was on fire and there was nothing left that survived, luckily no pets were home but his lifes work in camera equipment, hard drives, and most of all personal things like pictures and memtos from family were gone. He’s since rebuilt his house and with the help through fire insurance was able to get back on his feet with no debt, something he is extremely thankful for, especially in this time of the Covid-19 lockdown.
