Luke 11:33-36

It almost goes without saying, that we need LIGHT in order to navigate in the dark. Whether we are driving at night or just walking through our dark living room, without light there is pain in our future.

Not only do we need light to make our way through the night, we need God’s Word to make our way through life. God’s Word, our Light, guards us from tripping, stumbling and ultimately driving our lives into a ditch.

When we find ourselves in a dark place in life, God’s Word cuts through the darkness and brings us into His amazing Light!

Isaiah 42:18-20

Not only is physical sight important to us, so is spiritual sight. When we cannot see or hear, we can tend to miss out on the core or heart of God’s Word.

This is called spiritual blindness. Jesus’ disciples were not immune to it. Yet, knowing and understanding is what God wants to teach us, but we must have open eyes and yes, open ears to receive. We must do away with pride, we must repent of any sin in our lives, and not be rebellious against His Word.

Jesus came to bring spiritual sight to those who are blind. Our God desires that we all receive the spiritual revelation and understanding that He has for us.

Ezekiel 37:1-10

In John 10:9-10, God’s Word says, "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

It is God’s plan and desire for our lives that we have abundant life in him. God’s breath brings LIFE and that life is one of STRENGTH, ORDER and UNDERSTANDING.

Psalm 1:1-3, 105:40-41, I Corinthians 10:4

If you haven’t noticed, lately, we are currently in a War of Words. Words that divide flood our airways, our cell phones and our social platforms. Some words bless our lives, while others take our breath away, steal our hope and leave us in pain.

We know that the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. It is his intent to thwart God’s best for our lives. It would be one thing if he would just show up and declare his intent, but he comes quietly, with whispers and attempts to take from us the very Word of God that feeds our spiritual lives and refreshes us.

The enemy comes to Drown us, he attempts to Starve us, but God wants to “FILL” us. Are you thirsty?

Exodus 16:4, John 6:31-51

The Bible, very well, may be the most important document for the spiritual and even physical wellbeing of each of our lives. The Bible is our bread of life. It is our daily bread, our sustaining bread, and the true bread.

For God’s Word to give us the life sustaining nourishment that we need to survive in this culture of godlessness, we must take it in, receive the nourishment that it provides for our spiritual lives. Just as we have a great need for life-sustaining food for our physical lives, we also have a great need for a daily dose of God’s revealed Word for our spiritual lives.

Jeremiah 1:4-10

God has called many, through the ages, to preach to others, we call them pastors or preachers. Not everyone is called to preach in services each week, but God does call each of us to preach or bring His Word or sermons, so to speak, into the marketplaces of life. We are to take His Word with us as we engage in the communities that we live.

God calls, we respond and others are given hope.

God is calling! Can you hear the call that God is making to you, or are you in silent mode? God is calling, but we must hear the call and we must answer the call.

Hebrews 11:29-12:2

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen. It gives us assurance about the things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in the days of old earned a good reputation.

What is needed, in the day that we live, to earn this great reputation of old? We are surrounded by a huge crowd of witnesses cheering us on to do what is needed to continue the long line of Heroes.

Who’s your hero in the faith? Whose hero are you?

Don’t be afraid! Easier said than done. When things happen that are not part of our normal, everyday, making our way through life, we can become concerned, worried, fearful of what might become of our lives.

II Corinthians 9:6-8.

If you have ever planted a garden, whether you have a green thumb or not, you probably have learned that there is a right way and there is a wrong way to go about growing good produce. Needless to say, getting the soil ready for a good garden is as essential as it is to the planting of seeds, watering, pulling weeds or harvesting.

Sowing is part of what it takes to plant a good garden. And if we sow or plant sparingly, we will also reap or harvest sparingly.
