FANTASTIC
To Skin a Wolf is the 4th book in A.L. Kessler's Here Witchy Witchy urban fantasy series. Secrets are unraveling and I can't wait for the next book!
The Here Witchy Witchy series continues to draw me in. In To Skin a Wolf the element of creepy reached new levels...the title says it all! I was captivated by the conflict, action and mystery on every page. Kessler continues to open the curtains a little more on secrets surrounding Abigail and it drives me mad, in the best way possible. Every layer that gets pulled back seems to lead to a hidden door, which makes for an entertaining read and a world that I enjoy visiting.
Abigail's character development and strength makes her easily relatable. The fact that she can be strong and confident, but not self-centered and selfish is one of my favorite character traits. SOOOO many times I read female characters that are either one or the other and it is a breath of fresh air to have the two joined together and retain an organic feel.
If you are a fan of Urban Fantasy and are looking for your next binge-worthy series, this is one that won't disappoint.
You Won't Find A Wolf-Skin Rug In MY House
I just finished To Skin A Wolf and am already itching to reach for the next book in the series. A.L. Kessler works a mystery as well as Kermit works the alphabet. Not relying heavily on romance or flashy paranormal dramatics, the Here Witchy Witchy series actually leaves you guessing at what's going to happen next, who the bad guys are and who the good guys are, with a little bit of comedy sprinkled here and there. Like real life. But with vampires, werewolves, warlocks and witches, and Sphinxes. I've never wanted an expensive, hairless cat more than now after reading THIS book in the series haha.
Book 4 picks up quickly where book 3 left off (if you haven't read that one, turn back and do so). Abigail Collins is faced with probably the greatest foe of her life, struggles to keep emotional control of her magic, and the very normal pangs of jealousy when Simon is suddenly thrown back into her life. Someone is skinning the wolves in his pack, a gruesome crime that Agent Collins is personally requested for, and despite their past connection, she must work professionally with Simon and his hot head second to solve. There are still a lot of secrets surrounding those who she considers her friends and family, ones that could change her life forever and help her solve the biggest mystery of all; what really happened to her parents? And, unfortunately, no one is willing to give her any inkling to what those secrets are.
This book keeps to the Agent Collins solving mysteries that we have come to love so far, but also starts to get down into her personal life mysteries.
