The scripture repeatedly praises teachers and students. In fact, the title most used in addressing Jesus was “teacher.” The word “master” and Rabbi” both mean teacher and a “disciple” is simply one who studies. A disciple of Jesus then is a student of Jesus. Let us then take a few moments to express our gratitude to those who teach and to ask ourselves whether we are developing the capacity to learn what they teach us, about life, the world, and that one kind of knowledge that ties all of these things together --  knowledge of the Word of God.
