This week we're featuring a TOA17 talk by erotic film director, Erika Lust and her husband/business partner, Pablo Dobner. Erika and Pablo discuss the importance of creating ethical pornography - which they define as erotic films that eliminate the sexist and racist narratives that are frequently perpetuated by porn.
Erika has received lots of acclaim and attention for her films - she was featured in the Netflix Documentary series Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On in 2017. Her film Cabaret Desire won the Feminist Porn Award for Movie of the Year in 2012. The first two compilations of her XConfessions series have won her the Feminist Porn Awards for Hottest Straight Vignette in 2014 and 2015 respectively. XConfessions has also been screened at the Chicago International Film Festival and at Raindance Film Festival in London.
Hosts Niko Woischnik and Danielle Lemieux discuss how the demand for porn online has deeply influenced the evolution of the internet. Tune in next week to hear Andy Yen, CEO and Co-Founder of ProtonMail giving a talk at TOA17 about the importance of securing your personal information online.
