Are we seeing a decline or the slow death of what we know as today of the traditional audio podcast?  Since the beginning, 2003 to 2004 sharing audio files using RSS feeds for automatic downloading for portable media players has been a format of audio sharing that changed how we learn, how we collaborate with like minded folks, and how we were entertained by stories or life journeys from complete strangers. 5

For years, when we held a camera to take video, whether it was a camcorder or when we were introduced to iPhones in 2007, we all held our phones in horizontal mode.  Basically sideways.  Today with the ever growing trends of sharing video on social media, such as Instagram’s Reels and Tiktok, when should you shoot video in portrait or most commonly known as vertical mode?

This episode will touch on the differences between horizontal vs vertical video formats, when to shoot in them, and tips for shooting video in formats that can be used for both social media and for widely popular horizontal video services such as YouTube.

It’s that time of year!  Vacations and traveling during the summer break!  So the question is, when you are traveling on family vacations or attending a work conference, which do you prefer to use, a typical point and shoot camera or your smartphone?  As summer comes to a close, this podcast will still touch on some ideology about basic uses of photography from a typical point and shoot camera vs a smart phone.
