As we enter the "New Year" we are processing and self reflecting on ourselves and what things, habits, behaviors, and even mindsets we would like to carry moving forward. Which bags are we willing to carry and which are we willing to thank for the lessons, but release? Mirror, mirror on the wall - we even admit that we haven't always had it all (all together that is). On this episode we were honored to have singer/songwriter Bernice Celeste and (Mom), Isabel, to discuss the release of Bernice's new single Scary Places out now on all streaming platforms. We discuss how this song came to be as well as their family's path with mental health and how music had a major impact in many ways in their family's lives. There are so many takeaways in this episode such as mental health, being a woman, being a brown woman, generational stigmas, and so much more. We are so grateful to have shared this space with these extraordinary women and hope you enjoy this episode (aka therapy session) as much as we did.

We. Are. Back. Finally after a very long and very unplanned break from recording, we sat to catch you up on our lives. After a conversation with a friend, we discuss how we have learned to handle the unavoidable negativity that life sometimes throws at us and share a recent experience where we were reminded that no response is the most effective way to preserve the peace in our lives.

After a friend asks our thoughts about marriage, we sit to discuss the topic and share our personal thoughts about love, marriage, and focusing more on choosing the right person to ride life's good, bad and really bad with rather than getting caught up with titles.

Still trying to stay safe in what seems like a big, bad group project, we discuss our frustrations and concerns as we approach 5 months of practicing social distancing. We go on to talk about growing up with the idea that everyone gets invited to everything and how not following that golden rule can sometimes lead to hurt feelings.

After a little hiatus, we finally come together - in person! Still doing our best to protect our space and maintain our bubble, we sit and chat about some of the things we have been up to and move on to discuss some of the issues that have been going on in the world. We talk about how we are tackling these issues in an effort to heal our homes above all.

May is coming to and end but this only means a whole lot of celebrations are just beginning for us. We sit and talk about Mother's Day and all the new trending ways we are seeing people celebrate birthdays, graduations and everything in between all while practicing social distancing.

May is also Mental Health Awareness month which gets us opening up about the added stresses brought on by the current Covid-19 lockdown and how we are finding ways to de-stress. Spoiler alert: we both picked up a new hobby that requires keeping living organisms alive.

It's the last day of April and we caught up with a past guest from last year (plus a bonus guest), just in time for Autism Awareness month. Once again, Anissa shares Jayden's journey with us and updates us on how he is handling being a big brother, school, and so much more. Of course we love every minute of it and can't get enough of our sweet Jayden.

Still in quarantine like most of the world, we sit to discuss life on lockdown and all the quarantivities we are finding to pass the time.

Staying home is the new going out, and we are taking this call to action very serious. For this epsiode, we sat from the comfort of our own homes and recorded via phone to keep up with social distancing. We discuss our Easter plans, how we are passing the time during this pandemic, and the baby boom being foreseen if we all run out of activites at home.
