The federal government quietly removed more counter-tariffs on American goods than initially advertised, according to an order-in-council published online. The notice published last month indicates that, with the exception of sectoral tariffs for the steel, aluminum and auto industries, all Canadian retaliatory tariffs have been removed in apparent contradiction to what the prime minister had said about the decision.

Typhoon Ragasa has made landfall in southern China, where nearly two million people have been evacuated in preparation for its arrival.It comes after authorities said at least 17 people had been killed and more missing in Taiwan after a lake burst on Tuesday, causing severe flooding in the island's east.Ragasa was downgraded from a super to a severe typhoon on Wednesday but it remains highly destructive, with top winds of 241km/h (150mph) recorded in Taishan county in China's south-eastern Guangdong province.

Donald Trump has criticised other countries' migration and climate policies, during a scathing speech to the United Nations that also took aim at the body itself.The US president told the UN General Assembly in New York it was time to end the "failed experiment of open borders" and claimed UN predictions over climate change were wrong, prompting gasps from the assembly floor.Trump also made a major shift in his position on the war with Russia, saying Kyiv can "win all of Ukraine back in its original form".In a post on his Truth Social platform, he said Ukraine could get back "the original borders from where this war started" with the support of Europe and Nato.

Dr Reed said one parent asked her about having taken Tylenol while pregnant.Dr Reed, an obstetrician herself, said she expects to have many more of these conversations with expectant mothers going forward, to reassure them that research does not show a conclusive link between Tylenol and the disorder.
