White House "Border Czar" Tom Homan stated on Sunday, March 29, 2026, that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents could remain at U.S. airports even after Transportation Security Administration (TSA) workers receive their back pay. When asked if ICE would leave once pay is restored, Homan told CNN’s State of the Union and CBS’s Face the Nation, "We'll see". Homan emphasized that the duration of the ICE deployment depends on the TSA's ability to return to "100%" normal operations.
