At around 10 p.m., the U-Haul truck backed toward security personnel at the base entrance. Officers fired at the vehicle after the driver ignored commands to stop and the vehicle's actions were deemed a direct threat to safety. The driver, identified as an illegal immigrant, was wounded and taken to a hospital before being released into police custody. Reports also indicate two bystanders were hit by the truck, but this has not been confirmed by authorities. The FBI's San Francisco office is leading the investigation.
