This is as of today, my favorite song that I've written! "Today Is My Day!" was re-imagined after being discovered on an old cassette tape of demo songs I made nearly 30 years ago! It has a new theme, new lyrics, a whole new middle 8 section, and a very different sound and production! Let me know if you'd be interested in hearing the old original, it's rough, but might be interesting to hear where some of my old songs that I've "rebirthed" since my return to my music-making, sound like? The song was originally "You're What I Want" and it was about being frustrated with not getting a response from a "love interest." Well, there are lots of those, and it struck me, that in January when this was started in the production phase, that I should completely rethink and update the song's lyrics and feel. So, after it took me a while to get the old words out of my mind, I thought, "What do I need, what does the world need now? A song of empowerment, of hope, and inner strength for these times."

There you have it, from there, it was pretty easy, just a few tweaks to get the hook and verses, but they tumbled out, once I got the hook, I felt pretty positive. That's a good sign, don't you agree?
