On November 2, 1989, the world-renowned Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper published its last edition. Known throughout Southern California (and beyond), The Herald was known for award-winning editing, stories, and photos, along with a stable of world-class reporters and photographers. Many media experts feel that the close of the Herald Examiner in 1989 marked the beginning of the end of major newspaper media domination across the country. Newspaper historian, former San Diego radio personality, and Galaxy Good Guy Jeff Prescott, takes us back to a time when reading newspapers such as The Los Angeles Herald Examiner/Herald Express were how most Americans obtained their daily news, sports and stock market information.
