We remember two Galaxy Good Guys who recently passed away: Bill Earl, a Southern California Top 40 Radio historian, was well-known throughout the West Coast Baby Boomer community, with his podcast commentaries and published archives on the history of Los Angeles AM Top 40 Radio powerhouse KRLA AM 1110. Mike Bryant was an award-winning San Diego historian and author, as well as a notable expert on collectibles and antiques. He helped many Baby Boomers and others tasked with identifying and appraising items from family estate sales. Both gentleman were guests, multiple times on Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site. Author Colleen MacFarlane once again joins Gilbert and George on this episode of Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site. In those years, the television networks celebrated their golden and silver anniversaries, by presenting unique and extravagant programs to commemorate these events. The programs focused on the history and origins of the networks which began as radio networks before venturing in television. We look back and compare the historically-rich specials of that time period to the more showy song and dance programs of later anniversaries. The differences in audiences and how people watch television from those days to these modern times are discussed. Additionally, Ray shares memories of those early years of home video recording, and the excitement of being able to record programs for later playback and preservation.
