Kris surprised Deb with a super fun episode this week about the Canadian Maple Syrup Heist. Only in Canada! It involves a kidnapping, beer, a black rock, Pagans and peas. You know, like any good heist! And Deb just can't get enough of fish balls and barrel rollers ... nuf said! Find out why!

Grovel, happy, sad, funny? Deb takes a deep dive this week into a topic that is close to her heart.  Although what could be a heavy topic, she handles it like a pro and we try to keep it light while learning a lot. 

We are not sure if today's topic is funny, horrifying or just plain informative.  You be the judge!

Kris tackles a tragic story coming out of a small town in Nagyrev, Hungary. An absolutely amazing true story about what happens to the poor husbands of Nagyrev when the women taste a little bit of independence!  

Even though this episode has nothing to do with cooking or deforestation--we needed to call it this. Why?  Well, as you all know, we are not audio engineers and we are trying every trick the Internet has to give us a better sounding podcast.  This week, although the subject matter is fascinating, the audio is not...It took Kris all day and night of chopping and splicing to get this...if we went back to prehistoric times they would say, "topic, good.  Audio, bad".  But, we tried and definitely think it's worth a listen!

We interrupt our regularly scheduled podcast to bring you a Kris and Deb discussion on current events. With the state of the world, we felt the Russian invasion of Ukraine was something we not only needed to learn about, but to understand the cause behind it. Although we both knew the topic this week, we did our own research in hopes of teaching each other (and you) about why this is happening and where it might be going. 

Deb shares some pretty interesting information about (aboot?) her hometown Ottawa, Canada. Tarnished history? Yes. Haunted jail turned hostel? Yes. But just don't tell Deb Ottawa is boring!
